The Avon Grove Lions Club had its semi-annual "White Cane Days" fund raiser on October 28th and 29th. We wish to thank all those who contributed to help make this fund raiser the `best ever'. We solicited at four locations; Acme at New Garden, Peoples Bank and Wawa at Avondale, and a new location – the intersection of Rt. 796 and Old Baltimore Pike at Jennersville.
The Jennersville intersection was a new location for us and we were very pleased with the results. Not only monetarily but the acceptance and generosity we had from the drivers and passengers in all the cars who made contributions to our cause.
"White Cane Days" is a project developed to raise money to be used to help in the `Crusade Against Blindness'. Lions the world over have been involved in this since 1925 when Helen Keller called upon us to become the "Knights of the Blind".
